There are many thoughts behind the reason for bus rules. Some are for cleanliness, some are for safety, but there is one thing that is well known. If you do not enforce them, they do not happen.
Now it is the job of any child to test their limits, and it is the responsibility of adults to set the limits and enforce them. There is an old Chinese proverb that says “A word to the wise is sufficient”. So I’ll not mettle and go on leaving it at that.
As I was talking to a new driver who was in training as he chatted he mentioned that a friends neice when she found out that he was becoming a school bus driver, proceeded to give him her rules of what would make a good school bus driver.
He then stated the two he could remember. After he had mentioned them I asked him to get the list from her of exactly what rules were and so he did.
She realy liked the idea and sat right down and wrote them out for our understanding. So I thought it would be good for School Bus Drivers around the country to know what a 11 year old thought should be the ‘Rules For A Good School Bus Driver’. Remember this is in the USA.
Brookes’ Rules;
1.Don’t give assigned seats.
2.Let them have snacks that are not messy.
3.Let them bring electronics.
4.Be fair.
5.Get a bus safety person(?), about 5 to 3 people.
6.KEEP THEM SAFE!

I am sure there are others, if a survey would be taken, of additiional rules to be added from any students that ride school buses but I will let this do for a start and you can leave any comments you might have below.

P.S. What rules would a safety person enforce?

There is a deep freeze over a major part of the United States that started just before Christmas and has continued for several weeks. But what is unusual for the US is normal for many parts of CANADA and other parts of the world.
Well Contact has been made with been made with a part of yonder neighbor and I requesed these pictures were to compare with what Missouri is having now. I know that for many NORTH of me this is normal but for this California born and raised guy, I am living a life I never thought exsisted.
So here is one of the pictures Lisa in Canada sent me and below is a link to the others she has put into an online photo account.
Can anyone relate? By the way FYI they do not stop because of the snow. This was ofter Christmas Vacation when they went back to work.

A School Bus Driver Recipe for Fun and easy for family meals.
Make like a meatloaf, 4 pounds of ground turkey is a good start, adding your favorite spice packets for the short method or for the long method add onion, oregano, chopped pepper, chopped garlic, two eggs, and breadcrumbs and anything elce for flavor, then make into meatballs the size of golf balls.
Brown in a little oil on top of the stove, put on a baking sheet, bake in the oven at 350 for about 40 minutes.
Serve in fresh rolls (wheat are more filling).
Prepare your rolls as you like, putting in the meatballs, add a little extra sauce and sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese.
You can make your own sauce (click here for our low calorie version), or if time is a problem you can use your favoite pasta sauce.
Freeze the leftovers. It is said that the frozen ones are better because the spices are blended through the meat and the flavors have time to greet each other .
To freeze use quart size bags, double bagging. Squeezing out the air, mark the date then put in the freezer. They freeze good for up to six months.

There are many different types of school buses in the world and many ways parents gather their children from school. Here at School Bus Driver Video Blog I find it interesting to find out how others do it compared to my nice simple ddaily route where almost everything is done for me versus what must be done in other countries. Here is an example of how one contractor handles the daily task in Thailand.

Driving for the Independence School District #30 for years School Bus Driver Blog found out that Larry has been performing in the Kansas City area since the mid-80′s at Libraries, churchs, coffeehouses, bar & grills and festivals. It’s usually his guitar, and harmonica. But he has considered forming a duo or trio with friends, but his music is typically very personal and often on the dark or bittersweet side.
He thanks GOD for the Blessing of his WIFE (who is always there), THE SONGWRITER’S CIRCLE OF KANSAS CITY AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO DAVID HAKAN for his years of hard work. Othe influences are Johnny Cash (The Man), Ian Tyson, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Emmy Lou Harris (who he thinks she sweet?), Lefty Frizzell, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, and once more, JOHNNY CASH.
Hope you enjoy the song here. You may purchase his CD below.
