A School Bus Driver Recipe for Fun and easy for family meals.
Make like a meatloaf, 4 pounds of ground turkey is a good start, adding your favorite spice packets for the short method or for the long method add onion, oregano, chopped pepper, chopped garlic, two eggs, and breadcrumbs and anything elce for flavor, then make into meatballs the size of golf balls.
Brown in a little oil on top of the stove, put on a baking sheet, bake in the oven at 350 for about 40 minutes.
Serve in fresh rolls (wheat are more filling).
Prepare your rolls as you like, putting in the meatballs, add a little extra sauce and sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese.
You can make your own sauce (click here for our low calorie version), or if time is a problem you can use your favoite pasta sauce.
Freeze the leftovers. It is said that the frozen ones are better because the spices are blended through the meat and the flavors have time to greet each other .
To freeze use quart size bags, double bagging. Squeezing out the air, mark the date then put in the freezer. They freeze good for up to six months.

CROCK POT APPLE BUTTER from COOKS.COM
Great to do and I had fun doing it as you can see by the video. I have made three batches as of this writing and they have gone fast. I did buy some proper jars and gave them as gifts. Strange thing though, no one said they didn’t want or didn’t like Apple Butter as they got them. Or could it have been they didn’t expect it from me?

CROCK POT APPLE BUTTER from COOKS.COM
5 quarts finely chopped apples
4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
4 tsp. cinnamon
Fill a 5 quart crock pot heaping full with finely chopped apples. (Tart
apples are best.) Drizzle 4 cups sugar (or less, depending upon sweetness
of apples), 4 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon cloves and 1/4 teaspoon
salt, over the apples. Cover. (Lid may not fit tightly at start, but
apples will shrink as cooked.) Begin cooking on high, then lower heat and
cook all day until thick and dark color. Stir occasionally. Place in small
peanut butter jars, cool and freeze.
And I said above they make great gifts. (A small amount goes a long way with dispatch. SHHHH!!)
Enjoy (as I have), Brother Beno, Cheep Cook and Bottle Washer
